Booking + Availability
I’m trying to book an appointment for next month, but don’t see any open slots. Why don’t I see any availability?
HERcurls books always open on the 1st of every month for the subsequent month. For example, if you’d like a July appointment, those slots open on June 1st at 8am CST for all cities. If you don’t see any open slots right now, people move their appointments, cancel, or change services, so feel free to check daily for the most up-to-date availability. Click here to book.
Why do I have to pay a retainer when booking an appointment?
The retainer secures your appointment and holds your spot on our schedule. As our stylists’ time is valuable, the retainer helps us manage appointments and ensures we’re able to dedicate time to your service. The retainer is non-refundable, but it will be applied to your final service cost.
Do you have a waitlist or priority list?
We do! If you would like to sign up please email bookwithhaiya@hercurls.com with the subject line “INQUIRY: [DAL | NYC | LA | ATL] Waitlist + Priority Booking List Sign Up”. If you sign up for the Waitlist, we will notify you as soon as a slot becomes available and it will be up for grabs on a First Come, First Served basis. If you opt to sign up for the Priority Booking List, we will email you prior to our books opening to the general public so you get first dibs on those slots. You can also call or text the studio at (214) 779-8095 to let us know you’d like to be on either the Waitlist or Priority Booking List. You can also keep your eye out for our emails and IG stories and Broadcasts since we do pre-book in advance!
What happens if I can’t make my next appointment? How can I reschedule or cancel it?
We understand things come up! You may cancel or reschedule your appointment up to 48 hours in advance without penalty. Your retainer can be applied to a new appointment if notice is given in the appropriate timeframe. However, if you cancel or reschedule with less than 48 hours' notice, your retainer will be forfeited and a new retainer will be required to book a new appointment. If you need to change or cancel your appointment, you can do so by going to your confirmation email and clicking on the link to cancel/reschedule your appointment. What if I forgot to cancel or reschedule my appointment?
We send out courtesy reminders 24 hours before your appointment via text and email. However, it remains your responsibility to manage your appointment. If you fail to cancel or reschedule within the 48-hour window, the full service fee will be charged, as our stylists are unable to fill last-minute cancellations.
I’m trying to book an appointment but it’s in a different time zone. What’s up with all the different time zones?
Haiya does hair outside of Dallas. Depending on where you are booking from, your appointment time will be set in that time zone. For example, if you’re in NYC and you book an appointment at HERcurls in Dallas, your appointment time will be reflected in EDT, not CST. So if you book an appointment at 12pm EST, you are due at HERcurls in Dallas at 11am CST.
I’m not in Dallas but want to book with Haiya. Why don’t I see appointments available in my city?
HERcurls is always popping up in different places, from NYC, to ATL, to LA and beyond… Haiya goes where the wind takes her, so you can keep up on her whereabouts by signing up for our newsletter and following our social media.
Hair Preparation + Services:
How do I prepare my hair for my curly haircut or color service appointment?
You can read detailed instructions on our Hair Prep Guide before your appointment. We kindly ask that you follow all of the instructions in order to avoid any additional fees for prepping your hair during your haircut appointment. This includes, but is not limited to, shampooing, hair drying, and excessive detangling. If our stylists are unable to easily detangle your hair prior to your dry cut, you may not be properly prepped for your appointment. IF YOU DO NOT FOLLOW OUR HAIR PREP GUIDE TO THE LETTER, YOUR APPOINTMENT IS SUBJECT TO BE CANCELED AT THE STYLIST’S DISCRETION, AND YOU WILL BE CHARGED IN FULL. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Do you only do curly hair cuts?
Our name may be HERcurls Studio, but we service all hair types on all people! If you’re a person with hair on your head and you need a cut or color service, WE GOT YOU! We do not offer any barbering services at this time, however. Barbering services include shaves, fades, designs, etc.
Do you work on my hair texture? I’ve been turned away from salons before.
We hate to hear that you’ve been turned away from other salons. Like we mentioned above, here at HERcurls we service ALL textures on ALL people. From stick straight to zig-zag curls, we’ve worked on it all. Come see us!
Do you do haircuts for men and children?
Yep, we welcome everyone. Children must be at least 7 years old to receive a haircut. We do not offer any barbering services at this time, however. Barbering services include shaves, fades, designs, etc.
What does my haircut appointment include?
Your haircut appointment with Haiya will begin with a consultation, followed by a dry curly cut. At the shampoo bowl, you can expect a hair detox service followed by a shampoo, then a deep conditioning treatment accompanied by steam and aromatherapy. You will be styled and diffused dry, and you will receive education throughout your appointment on how to care for and maintain your curls as well as how to style your hair at home.
I booked a root touch-up, does that also include a style?
A root touch-up appointment does not include styling by Haiya unless a curly haircut is included. You do have the option of styling with an available apprentice.
How long is my appointment going to take?
A haircut appointment usually takes about 1 to 1.5 hours, a color appointment generally takes 3-5 hours, depending on how well you prepped your hair, as well as your hair density and length. Color appointment times depend on additional factors, including what color service you are receiving and how your hair is reacting to the chemical service, so they can be longer or shorter. For example, a root touch-up on someone with naturally dark fine medium-density shoulder length hair will be a lot shorter than a double process service on someone with naturally dark thick high-density waist length hair. Please let us know if you have any time constraints at the top of your appointment or prior to booking and we will do our best to give you an estimated time of completion for the service in question.
Why can’t I just book an appointment for a color service online?
First-Time Clients: Haiya’s focus for first-time clients is to assess the health of their hair and to get it to its full curl + health potential before performing any color services. Her priority is the health of your hair, first and foremost, so for this reason, hair color services are reserved for established clients whose hair has been cleared as healthy by Haiya. Also, in order to be able to quote a price for your service, we will need to know the condition and history of your hair and what look you'd like to achieve. If you are interested in color and already booked a haircut appointment please share your hair goals with Haiya during your appointment, and a plan can be made to add more funk down the road.

Location + Parking
I booked a Dallas appointment. Where are you located?
HERcurls Studio is conveniently located in The Cedars at 2001 South Ervay St. Ste. 200, Dallas, TX 75215. We're upstairs in the grey brick building on the corner of Ervay and Seegar. Look for the single black door on Ervay St. with the green HERcurls sticker on it. You’ll see "THIS IS IT" painted right above the doorway.
Open the door and walk right up the stairs. Ralph, the shop dog will bark to say hi. He's super friendly and loves to be pet.
Where can I park?
There are plenty of parking spaces around HERcurls. There is street parking on Ervay St., Seegar St., and across from the studio on Lear St. You can also park in the visitor parking to the left of the building in front of the wall that says “CEDARS PARK LOFTS”. DO NOT PARK AT THE EMPTY LOT ON SEGAR AND ERVAY TO THE RIGHT OF OUR BUILDING — YOU ARE 100% GUARANTEED TO BE TOWED. SERIOUSLY.
Policies + Payments
What does my retainer cover?
Your retainer holds your appointment and goes towards the balance of your services. Please note that your retainer is non-refundable and can be transferred from one appointment to a rescheduled appointment once, and will not be refunded if your appointment is cancelled.
Can my retainer be refunded?
No. The retainer is non-refundable and is used to secure your appointment. It covers the stylist’s time and commitment, so once your appointment is confirmed, that time is reserved for you and cannot be refunded or transferred.
What happens if I dispute the charge for my retainer?
When you book an appointment, you agree to our Policies, which clearly state that retainers are non-refundable. If you initiate a dispute through your bank or payment provider, we will submit the signed agreement and booking confirmation to support our policy. This may impact your ability to book future services with us.
How do I avoid charges or disputes?
To avoid charges or disputes, please review our cancellation and rescheduling policy before booking. If you need to change or cancel your appointment, use the link in your confirmation email. If the link does not allow you to reschedule, this means the window for making changes has closed, and you'll be responsible for the full cost of the appointment. Please make any changes at least 48 hours in advance. We're here to help!
What is your return/exchange policy for haircare products + merch?
All sales are final. We do not offer returns or exchanges. If you have any questions about how to use your haircare products to duplicate salon results, please reach out to us. If you have any issues with your shipped order, let us know. We are happy to help!
How can I pay for my appointment? Are you cashless?
If you’re paying for your appointment retainer online, we accept all major credit and debit cards. Same thing for covering the balance of your appointment. We also accept cash, Cash App, Venmo, Apple Pay, and Zelle. If you’re happy with your service and would like to show your appreciation to Haiya and/or her assistants you can do so with cash or any of the above-mentioned e-payment options.
